Maybe you have heard distorted thinking that continually resonates in your mind — something like:

Then you are the battleground of a great struggle between the very powers of darkness and Messiah Jesus (the Light of the world -John 8:12), the mighty Son of God.

Know that God's Holy Spirit is speaking to you through the darkness and through your confusion, because God cares for you even in all your sin and shame. And Messiah Jesus is offering you His freedoms:

• Freedom from the power of sin,
• Freedom from the ugly consequences of your sins,
• Freedom from Satan and his army of demons, and
• Freedom from walking in darkness.

How do you get those freedoms? By believing Messiah Jesus, who loves you and who satisfied all of the penalties that God the Father demands for your sins:

Look again! This offer of forgiveness is available to every human being in the whole world — including you! All human beings are within the scope of God's grace, even those who feel they are so unworthy; however, God's forgiveness is effective only for those who accept His free offer by believing His Good News.

Once you take that step of freedom, Messiah Jesus has already done the rest for you:

There is no question how demons impact unbelievers — demon just indwell them. Unbelievers can remain possessed; however, about 95 percent of the time the demon is inactive, and he does not have to make the human host morally worse or more evil. Actually, in some cases, a demonic Spirit may have to clean up a person morally so that individual will be fit to carry out a specific task. It can greatly frustrate the demons to recognize just how evil the human flesh is!

There is a group of Messengers assigned to both the {Thrones Vertical} and the {Powers Vertical} under Forces.

Once a demonic Force determines the human host and the demonic Spirit to be used, he dispatches a demonic Messenger with the message out to the demonic Spirit, which tells him the human being to indwell for the task.

Much of the angelic fighting is the godly angels blocking demonic Messengers. Like the little synapses that shoot across from nerve ending to nerve ending in our brain, the angelic Messengers get in the way to block those signals — they block the demonic Messengers from carrying out their task. That is a great thing godly Messengers can do, because this is one of the groups where godly angels vastly outnumber demons. Since the godly angels are situated at the lower ranks, they concentrate their energies on blocking the messages from the demonic Forces to the demonic Spirits [sent via the demonic Messengers].

By the way, demonic Messengers are very bad at indwelling unbelievers. Most of the time, when a demonic Messenger indwells an unbeliever, he makes him into a lunatic — thrashing around, slobbering, and acting crazy — because demonic Messengers are not very skillful at animating unbelievers or at making individuals talk conventionally.

For example: The demonics that Messiah Jesus freed — individuals running around naked, screaming and hollering — were probably demonic Messengers, because they are not well suited to indwelling human hosts.

On one occasion, I had an individual call me who was, obviously, indwelt by a demonic Messenger. He incoherently spoke [mumble – mumble – mumble], and he could hardly speak [it was total gibberish (nonsense)]. I said You must be the lowest of the low. Who are you, a shoeshine boy-demon? He was thoroughly embarassed because he was found out, and he hung up.

It is fairly easy to understand how demons interact with unbelievers, especially in the ranks of demonic Forces and Spirits. We do not know all of the details, but we can understand how they formulate theology and political beliefs, how they develop doctrines and documents, and how they actually go through a long hierarchical process to indwell and control unbelievers who will be used to carry out various tasks [that are permitted by God].

I believe Joseph Smith (founder of the Mormon Church in 1830 A.D. in Fayetteville, New York, USA) was not being deceptive when he said that the Authority Maroni appeared to him. People have written books trying to show that Smith was a liar and a fraud. However, if you really look at his life, you will see Smith was not, because he was too simple to pull off something like the development of a religion and its doctrinal book; simply put, Smith was misled by demons.

I believe that a demonic Ruler developed the religion of Mormonism (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), and a demonic Authority (named Maroni) wrote The Book Of Mormon. Then the demonic Ruler and Authority explained the religion and the book to a demonic Force.

The demonic Force analyzed that religion until he thoroughly understood it. Then he strategically did the following: (1) he found a particular person – Joseph Smith – whom he knew could be indwelt to actually produce the religion of Mormonism, and (2) he selected a particular demonic Spirit who could best incorporate the theology and document into Smith. The demonic Force sent a demonic Messenger out with that information to the demonic Spirit, and the demonic Spirit inhabited Smith, made him lifelike, fully explained that religion to him, and dictated The Book of Mormon to him.

Seemingly, the demons have a distinct power advantage over the godly angels because the demons can indwell unbelievers, get into unbelievers' minds, and control and inspire unbelievers. Additionally, there are a lot more of the higher-ranked demons (Rulers, Authorities, Forces, and Spirits) than there are higher-ranked godly angels. There is a skeleton crew with every rank represented on both the angelic and demonic sides, but the demonic Forces vastly outnumber the ranks of godly Forces and Spirits. By far, the majority of the godly angels are Messengers.

It is more difficult for us to know exactly what the godly angels are doing in any given situation, because they certainly do not inhabit unbelievers and they do not inhabit believers because Holy Spirit — the Spirit of God Himself — is there. However, godly angels render a great service to believers of guarding, watching, revealing, guiding, protecting, rescuing, delivering messages, and being there in death and in the future; on the other hand, godly angels have a ministry to unbelievers as God's executioners. Suppose there is a believer who is in politics and who God wants in a certain political position. God can send His angels to manipulate people, events, and circumstances — either positively or negatively — around this believer.

For instance, godly angels could facilitate the believer meeting the right people to help him advance, they could cause a fatal accident to remove an indwelt person who is trying to harm the believer, or they could bring in the news media to highlight the believer and his political position.

I think some of our friends make too much of the fact that Satan is prince of the world and they forget that Creator God is sovereign over, and separate from, His entire creation — including the entire spiritual realm, the whole universe, and all of mankind.

This is especially true for believers; their lives are in God's hands and not in Satan's. Anything the demons do, and any pressures and problems that come at believers, are under God's permission and under His control.

Specifically, if we sense that we are in one of those inexplicable situations [according to what we read in the Bible] with various external hassles and unusual circumstances, we can bring it before God in prayer. When we do that, God will protect us and He will work out all things for His glory, for the salvation of the elect, and for the good of the redeemed. And even when we do not pray, God will still [stubbornly] protect us by Holy Spirit internally and by His angels externally.

Father, thank You that Your sovereignty rules over all of Your creation — the entire spiritual realm, the whole universe, and all of mankind — and that all of Your creation shares in their dependence on You for their existence. We find much comfort in knowing that nothing happens in Your creation that is apart from Your knowing, Your presence, and Your divine control.

Thank You that Your word is very clear about the existence of angels and about some kind of a hierarchy of angels, who were created with different ranks, different powers, and different authorities. Though we do not know some of the details about their organization with certainty [including some of those we have just investigated], we do know that you have given Your angels purpose — executing Your will both in heaven and on earth. Thank You for divinely guiding their lives as You divinely guide our lives.

Father, though we understand that spirit beings exist among us, we do not just want to learn about them because of some fleshly motivation, which is just to know about spirit beings. We want to know about spirit beings because we have a real interest in who You are as their Creator, Organizer, Administrator, and Sustainer.

We ask that during those times when we are feeling vulnerable and persecuted by the world or because of spiritual warfare that You would help us see Your protective hand in our lives. Thank You for constantly intervening in our lives and for protecting us through Your Holy Spirit internally and Your angels externally, even when we do not recognize Your grace and mercy. We praise You for Your great love!

Father, thank you for enabling us to worship You, and for keeping us from being held in bondage under the elemental things of the world because of the sacrifice the Son of God, the Light of the world, made on our behalf. We pray these things in His name. Amen.
